Professional Degree in Early Childhood Education
Our Professional Degree in Early Childhood Education is a structured degree programme that aims to prepare students to play a more prominent role in early childhood education, including teaching classrooms from kindergarten through to primary school.
The programme covers the syllabus of our ECE certificate and diploma programmes in more detail to provide students deeper insights into their chosen vocation, with classes and lectures conducted by qualified lecturers with Masters from reputable Australian and Singaporean universities.
Our programme certificates are awarded by the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia - School of Professional and Continuing Education (UTMSPACE), which are recognised by the ECE industry in Singapore to equip students with relevant skills.
The 2 years 8 months programme aims to reinforce students’ fundamentals in Early Childhood Education, including interpersonal and communication skills needed to interact with young children, their families and communities with consideration for cultural diversity.
In addition, the programme aims to advance students’ understanding of children's physical, nutritional, and emotional care. Students will gain an understanding of the development of children's creative thinking and talents ranging from music, science, mathematics, sports, and social skills. Students will be required to complete coursework in classroom instruction and social-emotional education.
End-of-programme assessments of student learning outcomes consist of group and individual fieldwork project assignments. Students will also be evaluated in real-life early childhood education settings and a final examination.
